Photodynamic Skin Therapy

This peel is the latest development in skin rejuvenation from the medical world. Based on your preparedness for some down-time during which the skin appears very sunburned, the peel can be more or less intense. The more intense ~ the greater the results in rejuvenated skin. It works with Amino-levulinic Acid “Levulan” which is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. Levulan is applied to your face and any other area where you would like skin correction, such as neck and décolleté. While the drug incubates, (varies from 30 minutes to several hours, based on recommendation of the physician), you can go and run errands, wearing protection from sun and light exposure. During the incubation period, Levulan identifies all abnormal cell in the skin, such as actinic keritosis, photodamaged skin cells, hypo-pigmentation, and so forth. After an incubation period the peel is activated by exposure to the Blue-U Light source. This is what will cause the damaged tissue to peel off. The beauty of this peel is that it not also takes off abnormal skin cells, but also improves skin texture, acne/scars, fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, and is hereby an overall rejuvenating treatment.
